Here is the case: since we all know that at conception a genetically unique individual is created that will survive the pregnancy in most cases, how is the premeditated destruction of this baby at any time not a murder ?

Note masturbation can never lead to pregnancy (in case those posters didn't know). One person's choice should not impact another's freedom. By "choosing" to kill your baby I would say that you are taking away a basic human right to life.

How is abortion not a man's issue as well as half of the genetic material that goes into producing his baby belongs to him ? Women don't consider the pain they are inflicting on their boyfriends who may have wanted a child but are forced into going through with an abortion because of this "choice" crap. North Americans are hardly reproducing like rabbits, in fact both Canada and the US depend on foreign immigration to keep out population numbers up. To tria_n you need to learn your facts as the pro-choice movement depends on misinforming people like yourself and using dehumanizing terms to make the act of a mother murdering her own child when it is most vulnerable acceptable. Humans are not hermaphrodites therefore we cannot possible be conceiving 50 % of the time. Conception is the fusion of sperm and egg that creates a unique individual and the destruction of that individual should be wrong to all people regardless of their religion.

Mr. Liberty it is your form of liberty without responsibility that blinds people from the objective truths that is the root of all of what is evil in our society. All people are born free as they have the capacity to love and receive love even if they experience hardships in their lives. Denying the existence of another human being based on the fact that they might suffer a little is rubbish.

Mr. Liberty death is a part of the cycle of life and there is a big difference between willfully destroying life and countries at the equator that are going to be more populated anyways having higher death rates. Your argument in the end boils down to being a mass murderer of your own children or allowing children to die in third world nations in part because you don't share enough with them but in part because their leaders are corrupt, they have huge debts, climate change, etc. You attack the IQ of those debating you yet you miss the simple fact that children will die no matter what.

Murder is the unlawful killing of a human being. The fetus is not legally defined as a human being.

Abortion is absolutely NOT murder. Lets taker a look at a few things here. First of all most of you that consider yourselves religious (unfortunately cannot identify since I am atheist) tend to ignore science as irrelevant and instead turn to fictional concepts of the human 'soul.' Within three days of conception what you have sitting in the womb is a blastocyst; a collection of no more than 150 cells-- according to Sam Harris (author of Letter to a Christian Nation), a house fly's brain consists more than 100,000 cells. So, by this one could suggest that the fly's life value is actually greater than the blastocyst. Another thing to keep in mind is that the human body actually naturally abort upon conceiving 50% of the time, 20% end in miscarraige. Another thing that most of you are failing to consider is that fact that most that choose abortion due so with the best interests. Many simply cannot provide (financially especially) a sustainably healthy life for the child. Would you rather no abortions and a million more children suffering in an already highly impoverished world? What happens when a woman is raped? What about serious medical implications of giving birth? All of you that are for pro-life have some serious implications to think about in regards to abortions. I think that there are more socio-economic, medical, and governmental problems to think about before-hand.

Oh come on....! You believe it is murder or you don't. Why continue with this question? I am a pro-choice supporter. I don't want anyone telling me or any woman what they can or can't do with their bodies. It is not your right to say.
Abortions have been going on for centuries and many women died because of the stigma that went along with unwed pregnancies. Because they were afraid to be judged by others and to this day women are judged still.
Before you call it murder, look at the whole picture. Was she raped, too poor, etc.
We are always so quick to judge another, but forget it isn't our place to judge.
If you want to talk murder, how about the Christian's who are blowing up people in the name of their cause? Now that is premeditated.

The law states that a murder is committed by any person who killed another "person", with the aggravating circumstances that qualify killing to murder rather than homicide.

Even though, it shall soon be a child or human, a fetus can not be considered a person as recognize by the law. A man can have his personality on the basis stated by law and not merely being conceived inside a mothers womb.

sorry but you must be a man and no man has the right to comment on another womans body unless you are the father of the woman having the abortion or the husband. Doesn't anyone know of the complications and deaths from the time when abortions were illegal? I for one will admit to perfoming an abortion on myself when I was younger because there was no way to get to an abortion clinic. I hemmoraged for 5 months and the blood clots were the size of a softball. They would fall out every time I stood up. I ALMOST DIED. Just get off of the subject and find another cause to berate into the ground.

TO me it is murder.. You took that Child's life away. So many people are using Abortion as a birth control method now and so many babies are just being dumped in the trash like Garbage. It makes me sick. Are we not facing the facts that these are not just 6 week old fetus? But some of these BABIES are 5 months old? and older? they feel pain..They can hear..Suck on their thumb..
I'm sorry we use the word abortion so freely without thinking of what it really is.. Anyone of us here could have been thrown out too.. My heart hurts for those babies..

i'm with you. life begins at the very moment of conception so I look at it like a murder. people that have abortions don't think life begins until the fetus is more developed. thats ridiculus though since stage of development shouldn't determine a human's worth. a 1 year old isn't worth less than a 30 yr old simply because its not as developed.

Well though you may have a point. I think the start of abortions has to do with the decreased crime rates during the 90s.

Most of you pro lifers are of such a low IQ that you are unable to understand what you are doing. For every fetus you "save" you are killing 12 young children. (click my avatar)I don't believe you have the intelligence to ever understand what you are doing wrong. My dog killed a pet rabbit I had one day. I don't think he ever understood why I scolded him for killing the rabbit. And I doubt you will ever understand why you can't kill children. I would be willing to bet you will come up with some wise crack of no substance to brush this off. But you are a pro life murderer and your sassy remarks won't change that fact.

Abortion is murder or manslaughter, to what degree depends on intent. Unless, of course, a fetus is aborted in cases of rape, incest, or because of the health of the mother. Abortion should be a moral issue.
