Yes, it's ok. It varies from person to person. But normally you start out light, get heavy, maybe a little light again to where you are hoping that it is going away, and then BAM! it's back full force.

My periods would always start out light for about two days and then for 3 or 4 days the period will get heavy, then on days 5 and 6 they start to lighten up again and then completely finish on day 7.
I would also recommend talking to your dr about this to see what they think.

I just have to reply to that person that said periods "never harm your health". RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What when blood is literally gushing out so much that you get weak and start fainting, barely recovering in time for the next one.
That person must be a man.
But yes it is normal for your period to vary greatly in flow, both from day to day and period to period.
So dont worry!

Yes it is. When you're younger it might go light. As you age it will go heavier. When you're much older it might go light and stop. Medical researches prove that periods never harm the health. Do not worry too much.

It sounds like a signal to see a doctor. If this pattern continues for a long time then it would be best for the person having this pattern of period to seek advise from a doctor. I have heard that this could signify the womb have cysts in it or it could also mean the person is experiencing spontaneous miscarriage.
Go and seek professional help to set your mind at ease.
