Evaporation. Due to heat gain, the water vapour in the surrounding air rises into the air. Then, condensation occurs(heat loss) which then will turn the water vapour into clouds. It is then followed by precitipation(rain) and the whole cycle starts again.

The form of a anything is charecterized by the intermolecular distance i.e the distance between two molecules and intermolecular force. solids have very less intermolecular ditsance, and liquids certainly haigher than that. When the liquid is heated the the intermolecular distance betwwenn them and their kinetic energy increase and they start moving away from ecah other.
Thats why when any liquid is heated it changes to gas.

When the molecules near the surface of a liquid achieve a high enough energy level, usually through he absorption of heat, they have sufficient energy to escape the surface of the liquid and become a vapor.

It's energy level has increased.

As when you boil water to turn it into steam, or add heat to a refrigerant liquid to turn it into a vapor (or gas), or watch the heat of the sun melt snow and dry everything out again.

By applying temperature to a liquid it will change it's characteristics to a solid form or to a vapor form!
A cold temperature will cause a liquid form to qualitatively change to a solid form!..A hot temperature will cause a liquid form to qualitatively change to a vapor form!
This transitional change occurs in all forms of matter!
