The Democratic Party is one of two major contemporary political parties in the United States. Since the 2006 midterm elections the Democratic Party is the majority party for the 110th Congress; the party holds an outright majority in the United States House of Representatives and the Democratic caucus constitutes a majority in the United States Senate. Democrats also hold a majority of state governorships and control a plurality of state legislatures.
The Republican Party is one of two major contemporary political parties in the United States; the other being the Democratic Party. It is often referred to as the GOP, or Grand Old Party. The current President of the United States (2001-present), George W. Bush, is the leader of this party.
The Libertarian Party is an American political party founded in 1971. It is one of the largest continuing third parties in the United States, claiming more than 200,000 registered voters and more than 600 people in public office,[1] including mayors, county executives, county council members, school board members and other local officials. It has more people in office than all other third parties combined.

This website is a quite comprehensive directory of literally dozens of American poltiical parties. It is a couple of years old, so a few of the *really* minor parties have changed or disappeared. The biggest single change since then is that the Constitution Party has had a schism and broken into two or three smaller bits, but each bit is still pretty close to how this site describes the Constitution Party.

Main ones would be Republican and Democrat with Libertarian, Centerists, Green Party and several other minor ones (no offense meant). Then it comes down to be conservative, liberal, and moderate (with combinations of liberal and other two). Conservative means that, well, you like things the way they are really. Liberals are the ones who basically go out there with pro-choice signs, pro-gay marriage, and many tend to be for letting illegals across the border. moderates tend to agree with both sides on some issues.

There are two:
The Republican party, which stands for the interests of the rich and the Zionist lobby, and tries to keep the US public ignorant diverting their attention to less significant issues, while their politicians are mired in corruption and bought by the CEOs.
The Democrat party, which stands for the interests of the rich and the Zionist lobby, and tries to keep the US public ignorant diverting their attention to less significant issues, while their politicians are mired in corruption and bought by the CEOs.
