You are in Hyderabad & I am in Gurgaon another harbor of software MNC. Your wife works there my daughter (before her marriage) worked in such a MNC. Now about these so called MNC parties during late night. Yes you are right they are happening every where, not only in the office but even outdoor locations as pubs, restaurants, hotels, resorts where ever they get accommodation to host such a party. What all happens in such parries? Drinks hard & soft as the person likes, eating & chatting. No office talks means there is anything official in such parties. Now you will say how I know it? Did my daughter tell me? NO. I have seen many such parties happening in various Malls located in Gurgoan in pubs & restaurants situated there. These parties are arranged to boast up the employees, & for their recreation. Yes no employee can say no to these parties as they are arranged officially with full permission of the top bosses & are even financed by the company itself. Why these parties happen during night time, because most of people in India don’t take hard drink/liquor during day time & more so night time is relaxing time when away from home & job one can feel calm in a pleasure mood. Now as far training is concerned it sometime happens that even official training is arranged which is followed with drinks & dinner, but this arranged in a good resort or hotel not in pubs or restaurants. This is a practice which is carried on by almost every MNC so you should not have grudges against you wife attending late night parties it’s quite normal.

I was also in this line of work
and even though
I could have partied most every night,
it certainly wasn't compulsory!!!
It's just not true that a person doesn't have the choice to say the plain truth, that they have a "husband that they care for very much waiting for them at home and partying without them
is just not on the agenda.
Any one in my opinion, who does otherwise simply has a different "agenda", that's all...
Just because she seems in denial of it, you don't have to be.
It cries "infidelity" which is the only absolute time
that God himself will condone or accept or look kindly on a divorce...
and if I were you and could afford it... I'd hire an investigator.
I'm truly sorry to have to say this.
I'd rather say that there's nothing there and that you can sleep on your two ears, but my own conscience won't let me.
I've seen too much of that... and the only thing I that I have learned
to despise more than that are lies
and people using other people.
It's an awful thing to say to someone
but I actually hope,
under the circumstances,
that you don't have children.
Again forgive me for even saying this... (I'm still debating whether or not
to send you this...)
I hope that you have a good job
of your own... to support yourself with. You're in my prayers, which brings to mind that God hates a divorce even though Jesus said that it was acceptable in cases of adultery or fornication. However, should she find it in her heart to tell you the truth
and put a stop to the behavior,
it would be most commendable
if you could also find it
in your heart to forgive her.
You must assertain whether or not
she is sincere
and I pray that she can be
for both your sakes...
so do your utmost to find a way
to get your wife to open up to you, reason with her about even this topic
and tell her that you have read about another woman (me) who had found herself in such a situation
but never bought into the "compulsary" thing,
that any employer worth their "salt" would ever make such demands
on anyone's wife but his own,
especially if he happens
to appreciate the person's performance (and I don't mean the evening one!) with exception maybe for the odd "over-time" now and then
for which she would be paid for,
but it doesn't seem to be the case here, is it???

i am sure she cant give up the parties, becoz its compulsory.i do have the same problem.my parents are not happy with me.as i come home at very odd time and disturb them.but i cant help it.if u don't attend the party everyone starts gossipping, stays away from u,and tease u.as i am not married yet,its OK with me.but with a married one its tough i can understand u.
what i want to say is its not Ur wife's fault.its all in the game.so better don't find fault in her.and discuss about it with Ur wife.

Yes. Advise your wife to try to speak to her office people to see if she can be accommodated only in the daytime and spared of the nocturnal official parties, training, etc. If not, advise her to quit and search any daytime job elsewhere on the strength of her CV.

for once i thought which company was making it compulsory to attend parties............reading again i saw.....parties in the name of meetings,training......
i feel that you should understand that there are a lot of companies in india that are slave drivers and expect their employees to be at their beck and call......
its necessary for you and ure wife to discuss about whether she likes the job and if yes......then it is up to you to understand her job nature and place trust in her.
if no try getting into another company
