Let me give you some advice. First and foremost men want to be ADMIRED, second, Loved. So ADMIRE his pizza oven and tell him how smart he is and wow, that's really cool that you would know how to do that. I'm so proud to have such a smart husband. What else can you do? This is what men LIVE FOR to be admired by their wives FIRST, then comes the love naturally BECAUSE you admire him. If you admire him and tell him how proud you are of him he will ADORE you. You must let go of your selfish attitude or you will lose a really great guy. I wish my husband knew how to build a stone oven for pizza cause that makes the best pizza. I"m half Sicilian so to me to have a stone oven for pizza making is fantastic! You must be careful to always shower praise and not murmur about this or that, because there are plenty of women out there that will do it if you don't. If you murmur, murmur, murmur, he will begin to wonder what the hell did I get myself in, all she does is ***** and moan, doesn't she SEE ME. When you get married you don't OWN the other person. You give them space to grow as a human being and admire and support them in their process and vice versa, a husband needs to let his wife grow and be a contributor as well. It's not, me, me, me, you are not giving ME what I need. Each person is to give to the other what the other needs, emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, and loyalty is number one. If you don't have loyalty, especially a fierce loyalty to one another it will not last. Loyalty builds trust. Without trust you will have nothing.

Look at it this way :
1. If he can make a stone oven in a week, he can do a lot of other things around the house, too - which saves money and keeps the man in the house ...
2. The oven took just a week ... he is yours for the rest of your lives ...
3. Father being OK with son in law and the other way around ... something a lot of wives/daughters wish for and you have it !!!
4. ..if he is making the pizza too - less cooking for you ...
None of you is crazy, you are just missing to see the advantages ....

Just be there to support him. After he gets over this oven pizza kick more than likely he will not be able to stay away from you!! Right after my hubby & I were married he helped my brothers' make the new kitchen table, redo the porch, kitchen floor, bathroom floor, 2 of the 3 bedrooms & remodel the kitchen (they knocked down 2 walls to make it bigger & added an island) they did all this in a month I got pissed because I only saw him at night for 1/2 hour then he would go to bed! I would ask him when I came in to the picture & when would we spend time together He would say when everything is done He was ALL MINE!! When all the work was done (3 weeks later) we he FINALLY got down to business & he made up for lost time!! So right now just support him & he will eventually get his priorities straight!! I found out later my brother's did it on purpose to see how much I would tolerate & to get to know my hubby better!! They are good friends know 2yr & 8 months later!! Good Luck!!

He's a man who likes to have adventures. I think it's great. Even if the pizza is terrible it sounds like it'll be a really good time. You should have fun.
He may be crazy but he's also the man you love, and it sounds like he's a pretty cool guy.
Also if your father gets along with you husband that's just a really good sign. Let them hit it off all they want!

Sounds to me like you've got a pretty clever mate there. How long did you go together before getting married? Is he really surprising you or is this something you've seen before. How was the sex before marriage? You might ask him if his building the oven was a way of avoiding the responsibilities of marriage. Does he intend to involve himself in one project after another to continue to avoid dealing with you? Talk to him about this. Tell him how you feel. If his answers aren't satisfactory, consider counseling.
