If you gave what you thought was a good answer and went back and saw some thumbs down on your answer how does that make you feel? mad? or maybe you don't care?

It doesn't bother me in the least, because there have been several times when I've given a very simple factual answer ... like the temperature at which water freezes for example ... and I've gone back only to see that I got a thumbs down rating by someone. How can you give a thumbs down rating to an answer that simply states a proven fact and nothing more? That's when I realized that some people's lives are so boring and empty that they actually get a little charge out of giving people a thumbs down for no reason at all. Once I realized that, the ratings lost all meaning for me.

I never go back to check if I get a thumbs up, thumbs down or if anyone responds. People ask a question, I give an answer and that's it. Why should I care what other people think of my answer?

Some people just go down the line giving thumbs down to all the answers. So, I don't take that personally. In fact, I never do go back to look to check my thumbs.

I don't get mad but I do wonder why the thumbs down. But at the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

I don't generally care but I often wonder if when you go down the line and everyone has a thumbs down accept one do they really think they are fooling anyone. I usually give them one just for good measure.

I really don't care. I make my point and move on. I rarely go back and look at my past answers so I don't know if I've gotten thumbs down.

If it's my opinion then I really don't care. But if it's an answer based on facts it kinda pisses me off at people's ignorance. Or if I was just trying to be funny and people give me a thumbs down then it's like them saying I'm not funny - that kinda pisses me off.

I have someone who gives me a thumbs down on pretty much all of my answers....I gave up caring anymore

Not anymore people like to give thumbs down even with out reading the answer. They see your a top contributor ad give you a thumbs down. So don't worry about it. I think personally they should get rid of them. People don't use them properly
