You might be in the early stage of labor.
If you have any bad symptoms of your high blood pressure you should get to the ER,. I assume your doctor has given you some instructions of what to do.

If you continue to feel this bad you can call the doctor on call and ask what you should do.

Don't speak too soon about this being your last pregnancy.
This discomfort will soon be gone and as you fall in love with your child you might long for more children or maybe not.

The pain under your right breast bone is maybe gas pains.

When you lay down and try to sleep again..use a multitude of pillows to support your belly and your back. Elevate your head some and if you are laying on your side put a small pillow between your knees.

Most important is to call your doctor if you are concerned. Also write down and time your pains. This might be the start of labor

If the cramps are severe enough where you can't talk or type through them, that's labor... labor pains are very intense. The pain under the breast bone may just be the baby squished up under your ribs while you sit. Call your doctor if you get too concerned with it... pain that goes away when you switch postitions isn't labor... labor pains will not stop no matter what you do to move away from it. Good luck... mom of a 2 and 4 year old.

the cramps could well be braxton hicks (fake contractions) or real contractions.....i had my first baby 5months ago, i remember getting slight cramping around the same time as you are having them now...and for me labour pains were just super painful cramps....the pain under your right breast bone could just be pressure from babys foot or something.....try the link below and the forums there they were excellent help when i was pregnant....good luck with the birth and enjoy your baby

it is normal to cramp at 38 weeks but if it is really severe then you should go to the er for sure. i had a really tough first pregnancy and i didnt take any chances. cramping in pregnancy is never good unless they are coming out.
