He makes too much money, they can't trade him, so he will be there for the rest of his contract.

I honestly think the blazers should trade him. Grade some young prospects and 1 proven talent. The Blazers are obviously not going anywhere, especially with Zach Randolphs turnovers. I mean, Randolph is a great player, but he commits alot of turnovers and is pretty selfish at times.

He lives on the trading block. But it is very unlikely that he will be traded anytime soon. Here's why. First of all, he has a huge contract that would require a lot in return. He's had a good year, and has stayed out of trouble this year. But one year isn't enough to convince other teams that he's worth that type of investment yet. Second, the Blazers have other, more pressing needs as far as getting rid of huge contracts, like Darius Miles, Jamaal Magliore, and Raef LaFrentz. The Blazers aren't going to work as hard at getting rid of Randolph as they'll work to rid themselves of these other albatrosses, mainly because at least Randolph produces numbers on the court.
They signed him to that contract, he's their franchise player, and they will continue trying to build around him. And, its starting to look as if there's a light at the end of the tunnell. Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jarrett Jack, Travis Outlaw, Ime Udoka, and Martell Webster are starting to look a supporting cast, and it will help greatly if Joel Przybilla could ever stay healthy.

I don't think they'd mind getting rid of him, since the younger players are showing some promise and Zach is one of their last remaining players with "image problems." But he's got a big contract (3 more years!) and isn't highly coveted in the league. Other GMs seem to think he focuses too little on defense and is a magnet for off-court trouble (these things are true, but to a lesser degree than some people think).
Zach hasn't been in any big trouble lately, either with the league or with the law... though there are still a couple active investigations out there. If he manages to stay mostly out of trouble, and keeps playing at his 20/10 pace, Portland will keep him around. Unless hell freezes over and they get a nice trade offer.

he had a good year, and because of that i think theyll use him as trade bait. the bulls need a low post scoring threat, and depending on wat the blazers want in reutnr, he could be off to the bulls.
i think the blazers have been waiting for such an opportunity to arise where randolph has a good year and teams show interest. im not sure whether he really is in their long term plans....skill aside, i think it has more to do with getting rid of the last remaining player from the jail blazer years.

Probably keep him there. Isn't he about the only scorer there right now? I think Randolph and Aldridge can become something special if they stay together.
For the record, I can not stand Randolph.

They are going to trade him, and his value is pretty high right now. But this is not the guy you want as a face of an organization, he is a selfish player, and won't lead a team anywhere.
