Okay... In the west there are 5 teams that are the front runners.

There are:
Houston Rockets
Utah Jazz
San Antonio Spurs
Dallas Mavericks
Phoenix Suns

In the east there are 4 teams that look good:

Cleveland Cavaliers
Detroit Pistons
Miami Heat
Chicago Bulls

In the west I think the Rockets, because of their lack in experience(considering they didn't even go to the playoffs last year) are out of the picture.

The Spurs who are a bunch of old but highly veteran players can pull it off but if they were against a team like Dallas in the semi-finals.... they would lose because they would be too worn out and tired. But I think if Tim Duncan plays very well they can make it.

Utah... very young so expect them to reach the semis but depending on Deron Williams and if the rest of the bench give out good performances they can make an upset. But its very unlikely.

Dallas.... Okay they might be the best team in the NBA but the Suns would make it hard for them. But too close to call. If Dirk and Jason Terry would score 30+ points and the bench(Austin Croshere, Stackhouse, Diop) would go good, they will beat any team easily.

Suns.... team to beat but again too close to call with Dallas. Remember the Suns beat Dallas in their last matchup. Look for Steve Nash to be in his MVP form when the playoffs start. Remember last year they lost to Dallas in the semis because of a lack of a good big man. Now they have AMARE STOUDMIRE to be their center. He'll be a big factor.

East:

Cleveland: OUT! they can't stand a chance. They don't have any good backup for Lebron and everyone know that. Their defense is bad and their bench is not deep enough. The only person they can trust aside from Lebron is Larry Hughes and he's not much help.

Chicago: Good team but I think they're not experienced enough. They don't have much of a playoff record in the past 4 years excluding last year. But they can still pull it off.

Detroit: Big contenders! Their defense is good and their offense is solid. With the addition of Webber they can make it.

Miami: I know they're not that good but considering the east don't have any good teams, they can reach the semis and try to beat out the Pistons. Plus they are the Defending Champions. It all depends if Wade can perform good and if they are injury free when they reach the playoffs.

But in my opinion it will be Dallas/Detroit!

*I don't think Golden State can beat Dallas in the first round. Are you kidding me? Dallas is just to strong for Baron Davis and the Warriors.

*One team I didn't include in the East is Washington. They do have Gilbert but they don't have a strong supporting cast.

I know its long and only the west, but its descriptive and the east is too inconsistent to tell.

Depends. In the West (and obviously the conference that has the best shot) if the Warriors get in, they will take Dallas to 6 or 7 games (2-0 over Dallas and are on fire with Davis, Richardson, and Jackson healthy). The Suns will probably win against Denver, but again it will be a 6 or possibly 7 gamer (both teams have that same style of play with running and threes) and the Nuggets have way to many weapons that Phoenix won't adjust to till the 3rd or 4th game, which includes better big men (Nene, Martin, Camby over a lonely Amare) and that means better post and better rebounding. The Spurs vs Lakers will be only five games. The spurs are way to much for the Lakers to handle unless Kobe scores 35 a game, Lamar is healthy, Smush gets smart, and their 19 yr old center grows sum magical experience (the spurs are all experienced). The Rockets/Jazz game is probably the toughest to call. The regular season series is tied 1-1. Now both teams have dominant big men with Boozer (utah) and Yao(houston), both have that spark in their offense with Deron Williams and Rafer Alston at point, and both have deep enough benches. The difference is Tracy McGrady who will be the leading or second leading scorer every game and always get the jazz with the Yao pick/dishoff. I got Houston in 6.
The rest of the playoffs will be great. The Western Championship will be Dallas vs San Antonio (both teams are too experienced and consistent to lose to the suns and the rockets who haven't been in the playoffs for a while). In the end, it will be a seven game series with the only real winner being the Eastern Champ who gets a fried winner (just like last year when the Heat got the Mavs after two very long playoff series). The east is way to inconsistent and loose to choose for me. peace out y'all.

The obvious answer never seems to be the right one, but I'll say Dallas and Detroit. Dallas is better this year than last, especially on defense... I think they're poised to win it all.

You might be right about Chicago, but I'm not so sure. They're young and might need another year or two of playoff experience. As for Cleveland, I just don't see it happening. Too many weaknesses. People are freaking out because they've climbed into the #2 seed, but they've done so in a really weak East.

I say Dallas and Detroit. I look to see Chicago in the next 2-3 years, but not just yet.

If all things were fair the two teams in the finals would be Phoenix and Dallas. However we must let the east have someone in the finals. I think that someone will be either the Pistons or the Heat. The one team to come out of the west will be the Dallas Mavericks. Go Mavs!!!!!!!!

Dallas may lose to Golden State in the first round. They are 0-2 this year against them and lost by double digits both times.
I'd say Phoenix/Miami or Phoenix/Detroit.
