I am 29 Male and I want to buy a fine watch. I had a luminox and I think is time for me to escalate to a Tag instead of aiming to a rolex submariner.
According to my mother the Rolex is more for people over 35 and she says that Tag would do for now especially since in her words "it is more me" not only because of the looks but also because it is a sport watch.

Wow what a life. I think you should go for the Tag like the Aquaracer. Your mum is right, the Rolex is usually worn by older men, although i think it does look young.
See, the problem with Rolex, is that every pimp, every russian mafia wannabee... is going to wear a real or fake Rolex. Rolex has become the victim of its own success. but in the end, you wear the watch for you and not for the people around you, do you?

At 29 and your still asking your mom, you better get a Swatch. Now, if your thinking of a "fine" watch, I can recommend other brands that you may want to look into like JLC, IWC, Baume and Mercier, Patek Phillipe, Breguet which are all Swiss Craftsmanship and have some nice sporty models am sure you will like. Rolex is good, but really too mass market "rich" appeal. You want to be different right?

Get the Tag
Rolex you just can't be sure its real
and people will think you are wearing a Folex

If you can afford it get the Rolex, just make sure you get it at an authorized dealer.
People who criticize Rolex are the ones who can't afford them, but if they could they sure would get one.

33, using a daytona. not saying that tag is not good, but rolex with the valjoux movement is just pristine. no comparison.
