For those of you who is lack in foreign cultures, Izumi is a Japanese girl name. I like Takumi for a boy's name. I love the name girl friend.

It is a surname in Japanese and I've only once heard it as a girl's name. This was the only time I heard it as a first name and her mother's maiden name was Izumi.
