My opinion from personal experience is definitely rowing. All you guys who say soccer or baseball are lazy. No time-outs in rowing! You just go all-out for the whole time. And by the way, you already know how to run for baseball (which you hardly do unless batting) and soccer. You're already halfway there. Rowing demands much more than just moving your arms. Please, someone agree with me on this.

Physically demanding- Tie between 10km Marathon Swimming ( Open water swimming in the Ocean or Sea) Oh yeah if the jellyfish sting no reason to stop keep swimming.

Triathlon- 1.5 kilometer swim, a 40km bike ride, and a 10km run. I forgot to mention no breaks.

Both sports it's not just the distance, but how fast. Triathlon elite males are expected to finish around 1:50 - women over 2 hours. Open Water Swimming Women 2hr 03 minuts and Men 1 hr and 55 minuts.

Read below about those jellyfish.

Or the Marathon

unless you're talking winter olympics and I would think that the cross country skiing marathon type race would be absolutely brutal!

Decathlon, hands down. By any measure you care to name, the decathlon is more grueling. You think rowing is hard? Try swimming and running and biking and etc. etc., all in one event.
