One day, the church members, interns, and i went to a park. I had noticed a group of kids who were also attending. Then, something tragic happend and a many people were harmed. One of the mothers is sueing for this tragedy saying the people who were at the park were neglectful. The pastor of this church wants me to be a witness and give a deposition since i was there. But I did not see what had happend. I told him no, but now he has he secretary calling me, being rude to me, and I had nothing to do with it. This church is supposed to be founded by a world-wide ministry. He was an intern there and all they told him to do was not help anyone who was hurting around and was controlling him the whole time. This pastor also waited till he kmew he was in church to ask him and he called his mother to have her convince him to do it! Could someone help me b/c I'm about to hurt somebody?

If you didn't see anything, say so in the deposition.

If you did see something but you're worried about what will happen if you say what you saw... sorry, you've still got to tell the truth.

The truth isn't what we WISH things to be; the truth is just the truth.

The best thing you can do is attend the deposition and tell the truth and let God and the attorneys sort out who or what, if anyone, was at fault.

A deposition is not that anyone is accussing you of anything; it is an attempt at a fact-finding mission.

If you tell the truth, it is for a fact finding mission of the truth, you are not at fault and if the authorities determine someone else is, that is not your problem or responsibility; the best thing to do is the right thing by God.

Peace be with you and may God guide you in the journey for doing what is right in your own heart.

If the church is a part of a world-wide ministry, then there is a hiarchy and your pastor has a boss. Report him. Second, go ahead with the deposition. There is no harm in it. During a deposition you are sworn under oath to God to tell the truth. Your pastor can't ethically advice you to purger yourself.

DO NOT do it because you WILL end up in prison for lying to the authorities if you will testify as a witness when in fact you did not see anything. This is very, VERY serious matter to give a deposition as a witness. If you will go as a witness, they WILL cross-examine you at the trial, and they WILL figure you out if you give false or evasive statements. At least, 5 (!!) years of prison time if you lie as a witness or go as a false witness no matter what state you are in!! Send them ALL to he*ll and make it perfectly clear to all of them that your personal freedom is more important to you.

Its no big deal to give a deposition. You are in reality, under oath, you get asked questions to which you tell the truth. If you know nothing and saw nothing, that's what you tell them. So, whats the big deal? Nothing to get worried about unless your trying to hide something.

PS I see a person above is telling you its your choice weather you give a deposition or not. That's not true, the court can make you give one-by law.

i visit anticipate that this buddy is in comparison to 21 and nevertheless residing at abode. If her individuals say no longer yet that's for a her very own stable, have faith me! And if she relatively likes him that's ok. Have her ask if she would be in a position to bypass out on a team date with a gaggle of friends or something. She won't be "IN LOVE" with him likelihood is she hasn't even relatively had time to get to comprehend him yet. I comprehend unexpectedly that I in all likelihood sound like the enemy right here even nevertheless that's the fact I communicate. I wish you each and all of the final and stable success with this nevertheless!

If you didn't see what happened then you can't do them any good .. if someone called me demanding I do this and were rude to me .. well .. I would be very upset ..
If they expect you to lie then I would find another church .. or go in and do it but tell the truth .. they wont use it anyway then ..
This isn't gods way .. sounds to me like they are all a bunch of hypocrites .. find a new church and tell them to get lost ..

What are you freaking out about? It's just a deposition. They just want to know what you saw. You are a witness. They can subpoena you for court too. You have to go to court if you get a subpoena so this might make it so you don't have to go to court later. It depends if they are able to settle out of court though. That is probably part of the reason they are having a deposition.

just keep telling him no, you didnt see what happend! if it gets too bad, you may have to go to the police, surely they were informed of what happend. tell them that now you have someone harrassing you about it, but you didnt see what happend so you dont feel right giving any sort of information as to what happend. ask you friend why he is so desperate to get you to say something if youve already told him you didnt see anything, it may help you better figure out how to tell him to get off your back. it sounds like he really didnt want to be an intern, so he may be getting heckled by people higher up than him, so if you can get him to tell you what is going on, you may be able to help him and yourself.
