Volcanoes provide hydrothermal vents which are responsible for massive sulphides and are where we get almost all of our iron, copper, nickel, platinum, gold, silver, zinc, etc. So you can thank volcanoes for the metal you used today.

Volcanic ash is the most important asset provided by volcanoes. It produces exceptionally fertile soil. The reason people are willing to risk living near volcanoes is the benefit to farming. This is far more important economically than gems.

Pumice. In Europe the abrasive on sandpaper is pumice because it has no silicon in it like the garnet we use here in USA. Dentists use it to clean your teeth. It is in Lava soap.
I think obsidian comes out of volcanoes. The ancient Incas and Mayans used it for weapons and tools. It is basically melted glass.
