This is a serious question. It might benefit public safety. If prisons overcrowd, and we have to let some prisoners out, or if sexual predators get paroled, do you think that chastity belts would make sense, for public safety?
I happened to see on wikipedia that they actually make male ones. They're not supposed to be physically harmful, but they restrict the private area to physically stop "arousal". Any act that would cause sexual arousal would be met with an unpleasent obstruction. (I'd post a link, but it would probably get taken down. Look it up.) There could be periodic visits to a place for temporary removal, for "gratification."
But if a man is convicted of rape or child molestation, and he must be let out, wouldn't it make women and children safer? If he can't get aroused, he can't commit sexual offenses, it'd be an added deterent against sexual violence.

Note: maybe I wasn't clear, but you wouldn't need to restrict their limbs because any act that caused sexual arousal would be met with discomfort, like a dog collar that squirts water when the dog barks. An act of pure rage, without arousal, would seem unlikely, but I'm not a psychologist. I think this solution would have a much better chance of being implemented than castration.

Problem in law is that it even protects the rights of such people as these and it probably would never pass legislation. Any of it. What would help overcrowding of our prisons though would be stiffer penalties to violators, say, repeat offenders after so many times are put to death as a menace to society. As it is "we" as taxpayers support too many low life's who "choose" not to change their ways, and as such have a revolving door in our present system. If the "worse" of the lot in our societies "knew" there were LAWS that are not going to tolerate repeated bad behaviors by the penalty of death you wouldn't see so many prisons being built and supported by hard working taxpayers............

In a perfect world their genitals would be chopped off. But in this world, I think chastity belts are a great idea. Also maybe sterilizing them, or taking drugs/doing surgery to cause impotence. I really think thats what those sickos deserve, and at least a chastity belt would be a good start. It would definatley mentally make them not want to have those feelings for children anymore. Especially if the erection is met by pins or a shock. Behavior Modification. Less repeat sex crimes. Sounds good to me.

I agree with giving them an option: life incarceration or voluntary surgical (not chemical) castration. It's been scientifically proven to drop the repeat offender rate to under 5%. That's huge! Repeaters would get automatic life imprisonment with no parole.
By making castration a voluntary choice, no rights are infringed upon. Put up to a popular vote, I guarantee it would pass in MY home state. A lawsuit could take it to the Supreme Court, which I believe would uphold it. Other states would follow, leaving the feel good liberal states to deal with a migration of "uncut" rapists and molesters.

I hate sexual violence, it destroys a person in so many ways. I know a few people who have opened up to me about various violations in the past, and well...I guess I have very little sympathy for these schmucks. Although, your idea is good...I say castrate 'em...make 'em eunuchs. Gets rid of all their testosterone...makes them the "girlie-men" that they truly are. Even though they say sexual arousal for these creeps is a mental thing, I think possibly losing your testicles could act as a pretty strong deterrent.

That would be a fairly good idea I think...
But the only possible problem I see with that is that the testosterone that's (partially) fueling the rape/molestation would be diverted. Would that now become just straight rage, anger, or violence? Would we really be better off?
Why not avoid that type of problem completely - and remove the problem area. Castration with rusty nail clippers sounds good.

No it would not. I would not make any child safe from them.
A chastity belt would be a turn on for most of then and the molesters do not need to have access to their privets to get gratification from a rape. Rape is about control and the destruction of that child not sex.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! We should just castrate them with steak knives and no pain medication and save ourselves the expense!--- Seriously, this would not solve the problem as for many of these predators, it is not about the actual sexual act but about power and control. They would find another way to gratify themselves. Really, if we just started hanging them in the town square, we'd save ourselves a lot of money, heartache, and hassle!

I agree, but wouldn't it be wiser to address the overcrowding? A friend of mine who is an ex-con (not for rape or molestations) has the following ideas for convicted criminals: 1. Jury of peers. Once a person has one conviction, any following conviction should be tried by his/her peers, who are now inmates. There are judges and lawyers incarcerated. They can try and prosecute and defend at reduced cost to taxpayers. And jurys aren't likely to mind if they are sequestered, and are not likely to recommend light sentences. 2. Facilities at capacity. Once a facility is at capacity and a new inmate comes in, execute the prisoner who has seniority. It wouldn't take too many executions to discourage potential newcomers once they realized where their fate would take them.
Oh, yeah, those belts would help to hide the scars, if my wishes came true.

That won't work, they still would do harm to others they prey on. It is all in the brain of theirs that triggering it. I think the best would be the old fashion Psychology method call drilling a hole in the head where the problem is at that is causing them to be over stimulated. That should fix them.

no and im not for people being raped but if they did there time and there out of jail then they must live life like everyone else in the world having them were that would be equivalent to having a person that kills people with guns were a safety on there hand so they cant shoot anyone and as bad as it is shooting or killing someone there are way to many laws and rights that would still protect this person even though they were in the wrong and having them wear something like that I doubt voters would go for that atleast in cali were I live I no that law wouldnt fly out here .
