What you need to do is make sure the titles of your pages appeal to the search. You also need to use all your keywords on your home page. You also need to insert meta tags. If you have done all that you need to submit your site to Google. You should receive anywhere from a dozen to a few dozen visits at first. The more you build your site, the more you will have return visits and people might start to link you. If you don't have a Links page make one and exchange links with related sites. The best way to get visitors is to simply have content. When I was first starting out I came up to almost a thousand visitors in three months, but that was only because I labored over creating content. Though they are not as important as the title of your pages and the keywords you use on your home page, you need meta tags.

Thats a hard question. If you are selling something or have an adsense component on your site then you would want lots of page views. Young sites usually attract maybe 0 to 100 views a month but that would be friends. If you join a traffic exchange then maybe lots more but no sales. Don't do this if you have adsense as its against the terms of service, using traffic exchanges that is. Best way is to seo your site, add the url in your signature on emails etc and enter into a sound linking program. My profile has more on adsense if you need it.

There is no right answer to that question.

How many do you want?

If you built the best website in the world, and told no one about it, and didnt advertise the site online and offline, didnt pursue online linking partners, didnt register it with directories, and didn't market it otherwise, no one would probably EVER find it.

It's 20 year page views total would be less than 10. Yup - TEN.

If you want to get some people looking at it, get the word out, as outlined above.

Most recently, I built three websites. The first month, we were getting about 10-20 unique hits per day. Of course that is a smaller than number of hits. After 3-4 months, we are getting about 40-60 hits per day.

We have not paid for any search sensitive ADs and/or any other types of online ADs. I just submitted my website to whole bunch of search engines and free classified AD sites.

Page views are dependent on your site and the visitor. Ideally, you want them to go to multiple pages of the same interest (products, services...).
