I just received via email that someone had added me onto their "new contacts" on here. When I viewed their profile, their name on Yahoo Q & A is " 1@ n3n@ $3xY
HOwever they just became a member on q&a TODAY (march 29, 2007)
They have no questions or answers and most of my recent questions were deleted.....
so why, in your opinion did they choose ME as "their new contact", and I am the ONLY 'new contact' they chose, in combination of everything else I mentioned above...
do you think this is WEIRD? and what do you think is going on here please?
Their name in my email said "ashia p",but their name on yahoo q&a is what I typed above

It does sound a bit unusual, mainly because of his name.
I would remove him from your contact list and be careful who you alllow to add you as a contact.
While some people I have never noticed have added me as a contact, they usually have questions or answers in an area that I frequent and I consider it a compliment, however, with that name and the fact that he is totally new, I would think twice about it.
Of course, April first is approaching, and it could be a friend tying to play a trick on you. . .

If you're really worried about this, e-mail customer care. Try using the following method:
1. Under the words Web Search in the upper right hand corner of the answer screen is the word Help in tiny blue print. Click on it. 2) On the next page, click on Community Guidelines and Abuse 3) Under "Can't Find What You're Looking For?" click on Yahoo! Help Central 4) Click on Contact Customer Care. 5) E-mail Customer Care and tell them you're worried about this situation and paste your question in the e-mail.

that just means that this person is your "fan". its a new feature here on yahoo answers. if someone likes your questions and or answers they can add you to their contacts list. you have a few options: add them to your contact list, (you'll be listed under their 'fans' section), you can see their profile, or do nothing about it. all this options are listed on the message yahoo sends you letting you know that someone has added you to their contacts list. this is completely normal. dont worry, that person probably read questions and answers before posting some of their own. dont get freaked out, its all good.

Yeah, it is kinda weird. Do they have a email address? If so then email them and ask them who they are and why did they choose you as their only contact. Maybe it's someone who knows you and they are just trying to be funny. Either way, don't worry about it unless something else strange happens.

It does sound a bit odd, but this is Y A after all. I'd be cautious, as one should be while cruising around on the Internet. Can you refuse there new contact invite? I would if it makes you uncomfortable. Safety first.

That is a bit odd, I'll agree...either you've acquired a stalker, or someone saw something you answered or asked and liked you a lot right away!
