Tell your children you love them each and every day....and demonstrate it to them. Encourage their individuality. Feed them a proper diet. Monitor their tv and music, and trust your "gut" when it comes to friends . Teach them to love and honor God, to respect authority, and to respect themselves. Communicate. Listen. Watch. Praise. Encourage. Participate. Laugh. Sing. Dance. Play. Make your home the best place to be. Know when to draw the line and be a parent, not a friend; sometimes you can't be both. Trust your heart and celebrate your children. Take good care of yourself, along the way. Bless you.

There aren't any instruction books for moms and dads and you usually learn by making lots of mistakes. But here are some of my thoughts on what makes a great mom:
1. Patience
2. Understanding
3. Compassion
4. Being able to set firm, but not unreasonable limits
5. Sticking with those limits
6. Letting your child make mistakes
7. Comforting them when they do
8. Having fun
9. Listening more and offering opinions less
10. Taking the time to get to know your kid
11. Realizing that you can't live your life thru them
12. Encouraging them to be fearless and to think for themselves
13. Encouraging them without guilt
14. Cultivating their strengths instead of pointing out their weaknesses
15. Laughing with them, not at them
16. Don't be afraid to tell them how their behavior impacts you
17. Love them and know that they are a gift

remember what it felt like growing up, give your child the space to grow but the security to know they can find you whenever they need you and always be there for them 24/7 .Also be honest with them and they will give it back by being honest to you. My daughter (18) is my best friend, this doesn't mean we do everything together, but we share something so special, i can't describe how it feels. And all i've done is what i've written above. Hope this helps....
