Do you think that Earth will become the next Mars? Or that Mars will become the next Earth?

They are different planets. Mars is about twice as far from the sun as the earth is.

It is also much smaller. These two factors alone make the planets very different. Mars is the most earthlike of the planets in the Solar System, but the similarities only go so far.

We can learn a lot about earth by studying Mars. That alone makes it well worth exploring and studying.
