What about the POWs after WW2 - did America decide to bomb Indo-China into submission? Why is it still fashionable to defend Israel for unpardonable crimes that defy not only UN laws, Amnesty goals, but the basic respect of life itself?

Sorry. I mean, Israel has a right to defend itself. I mean, the life of an Israeli means much more than an Arab - after all, God says so.

That's correct, they even killed a lot of Christians.
Maybe that's why the Christians in Lebonan are backing Hizb Allah. The Christians in the Holy Land back HAMAS.
But then Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell won't tell you about that

Why don't you ask Hezzbollah why they place underground missile caches and launching areas near schools, hospitals, and apartment buildings?

Since you probably are not interested in asking that question, how about this one?

Why does Hezbollah accept large amounts of weapons, equipment, training, and even soldiers from Iran? The same Iran that said that Israel does not even have the right to exist.

And Israel exists because of a UN Charter. And what UN laws did they break? As far as Amnesty goes, they are hardly an impartial third party, so I am not going to concede to what they have to say on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

It was nice of you to try and confuse the issue with your last statement, but the truth is that God does not say that. Good effort, though.

Israel fought back after their soldiers were captured first. And Israel was fired upon with rockets first. Then they let loose.

Maybe Great Britian could learn something here....

I am curious whether you are American. This is very unAmerican sounding. Of course, you have the right to say it, but I am still curious.

Anyway, I cannot do better than Coragryph. To quote another user on this site: "If Islam laid down their weapons, there would be peace. If Israel laid down their weapons, there would be no Israel." Howdy, Yupchagee!

They didn't.

Thousands of civilians got killed because the terrorist groups that Israel was fighting (Hezbollah and Hamas) use civilians as human shields.

Israel was firing back at the rocket emplacements being used to attack Israeli towns. And sadly, as in any conflict, there were some civilian causalities.

The difference is that Israel didn't intentionally target Lebanese civilians. Hezbollah did intentionally target Israeli civilians.

There were other reasons, like daily rocket attacks. The Arabs chose to fight from behind civilians. All civilian casualties were their responsibility.

Israel sends civilians to bomb shelters. Arabs send civilians to shelter bombs.
