I can't access the official website right now. Back in 2000 I researched it and they just made it too difficult but I believe things have changed- at least I think single mothers were encouraged to move there.

I'm not a single mother. I would move with my husband who is a radiologist and I don't work.

All I know is that it takes years. What are you qualified to do? That will help. There is a points system and it's really stupid. We're really low on doctors, mechanics and other skilled trades yet we're making people wait up to ten years and don't let them practice what they're qualified to do. I know a janitor who back in Korea was a surgeon. Good luck though, it's worth it here in Canada.

I'm not sure, but a male cousin went there to live back when he was around 22 years old and is now 59, married with grown children and has never returned to the states except to visit his parents and the relatives and absolutely loves Canada and everything about it.

So if you move there, hopefully you will love it also. The only time I have been there was to view the Grand Canyon from the Canadian side and that was sure awesome.
