I mean and1 and hip hop brought more flash and attitude into the game, but does it make it more entertaining to watch? Is it more fun to watch or play that way??

It demeans fundamentals and has brought the "thug" style into the game...do you think because of that the NBA is trying to soften up the image and that has something to do with alllll these whistles and fouls in every game and playing defense with no handchecks?

As Coastin115 said "'Thug' term, it's the new racist term that describes young African Americans. Crossovers, corn rolls, bad attitudes and tattoos don't make you a thug. Real Thugs are killers, robbers, and criminals."

I disagree that it describes young African Americans. I use the term to describe people who have no respect for authority and other people or use intimidation to gain respect no matter what race they are. And this latest generation of NBA players and Professional players in most sports are exhibiting these characteristics, which is why it's hard for me to watch NBA games.

The most obvious example of this is the brawl in Detroit. A thug wants all the glory and the fame for themselves. A thug shows no respect to anyone but demands the respect from everyone or else they are willing to fight to show they deserve it. It has nothing to do with corn rolls, cross- overs, or tattoos. I don't consider AI a thug because he shows respect for the sport. He goes out and plays hard, plays injured and keeps coming back for more without making a big deal about it because that's his job. He earns his respect through hard work. A Thug thinks because he has talent and fame it should be given to him.

To answer the question, And 1 is great entertainment and that style of play should be exclusive to that genre. I don't believe it has a place in professional basketball. The reason is because the players are considered professionals. And 1 is about showing up your competition, making them look stupid and bad. Which is great entertainment but isn't what basketball as a sport is about. You can block someone's shot and throw it down without getting in their face or staring them down trying to intimidate them. Just play the game, go to the next play, don't cry about not getting a call, you'll never get them all.

Why would you hire someone who is known for doing drugs? Why would you hire someone who wields a weapon? Why would you hire someone who can't submit to authority? What happened to ethics, knowing right from wrong?

I am so fed up with professional sports for these reasons. If you are going to be a professional at anything then act like it! Don't go to bars where there may be shootings. Don't cheat by taking steroids. Don't break the law. Someone please tell me why these players are still employed.

The commissioner of the NBA is ruining the game. His so called idea of cleaning up the game with touch fouls, quick technicals, star player treatment, has made the NBA soft. That's why USA Basketball can't win the gold, guys are constantly looking for fouls that would have been fouls in the NBA.

The college game is a throwback of what the NBA used to be, tough, physical play and the refs let the players decide the games. The games are more engaging and entertaining, the NCAA tournament is pure excitement because you honestly don't know what's going to happen or who is gonna win.

And 1 Basketball is pure entertainment, real ballers know that. True, some of those guys have real talent, but not NBA talent. And, lets lay off the whole 'Thug' term, it's the new racist term that describes young African Americans. Crossovers, corn rolls, bad attitudes and tattoos don't make you a thug. Real Thugs are killers, robbers, and criminals.

If your a fan of basketball you watch the NBA. And 1 ball is exciting and fun to watch. As boring as the NBA maybe to some people, I doubt the majority of them will disagree when i say a thunderous dunk in a NBA game over a player actually trying on defense is a lot more fun to watch then a someone dunking the ball while the opposing players clear the lane so the fans can watch another dunk they probably scene 20 times. What im getting at is even though street ball moves are few and far between in the NBA, they can be more exciting for that reason alone as well as the fact that the other team is playing defense.

Your reasoning is totally unfounded, college basketball remains the most popular form, it is continually growing and they call more fouls and use more fundamentals in College than in the pros by far. The NBA's popularity is decreaseing because of the lack of fundamentals and fouls and such, noone wants to watch some overpayed babies (not all but most) score 30 or 40 points and then once they have the amount of points they think they need they stop. They have no drive to win anymore its boring.

AND 1 sucks and doesn't represent the NBA in any form or fashion. A 60 year old man on the court with a mic, screaming, "Oh Baby!" Terrible.
