what is the tv show called that had a guy who got tomarrow's newspaper today, and he would read articles about people getting hurt and go save them? it was on abc or cbs or something...he also had a cat if that helps lol

The show was called Early Edition . Gary Hobson was a regular Chicago stockbroker. One day his wife dumped him and he was forced to move into a hotel room. The next morning, at 6:30 am, a mysterious yellow cat showed up at his front door with tomorrow's edition of the Chicago Sun-Times. From that day on his life was never the same. At first skeptical, Gary started to try saving people's lives and stop disasters from happening . Airs Next: CBS at Saturday 9:00 PM (60 min.)

Early Edition- starred Kyle Chandler was Gary Hopson and Shanesia Davis-Williams was Marissa Clark. CBS is where you might have seen it.
I always remember the one where he tried to trick the cat [remember the cat who always came with the newspapper] by opening the door. then he started to put a bowl of milk for it.
