Congrats on the new baby. I was unable to breastfeed, but I have several friends that did and from what I know each one started at different times, one girlfriend did not start until she stopped breastfeeding, one got pregnant within 3 months of having the baby, never got her period (soo what out for that too) and she breastfeed that baby, but she finally did get her period about 5 months later after the 2nd baby and she continued to breastfeed until the baby was about 7 or 8 months old, when teeth started coming in. Some of them got their periods anywhere from 3 to 6 months and were still breast feeding.

Everyone is different, just like our periods are different. Don't sweat it, it will come eventually. Becareful not to get pregnant if you are not ready and please enjoy not having it while it last. :=)

It varies very much. Some women get a period about a month after giving birth. Some women do not get a period for months if they are fully breastfeeding.

Just because you don't have a period does not mean you cannot get pregnant. Every Ob/Gyn (or GP) has seen women pregnant at the post-natal check.

Also do not rely on breastfeeding as a contraceptive. I doesn't work like that.

Every woman is different. I was breast feeding for a month and then had to stop. Then six weeks later got my first period. So all up it was ten weeks later. I don't even know if it matters if you breast feed or not to whether your period comes earlier or later. Anyway, like I said Everyone is different.

A lot of breastfeeding moms dont start their periods for a while after giving birth. With my first I started about 8 weeks afterward, 2nd about 3 weeks afterward, and with my last about a month or so afterward.

when you breast feed it prolongs it for as long as you are breastfeeding or less. In my experience I didn't get my period until about 3-4 months after my deliveries. I breast fed my daughter for 14 months and my son for 6 months.

I didnt get mine till 6 months later. Right after I stopped breastfeeding. Its normal for you to stop menstruating while breastfeeding. Enjoy it!

For me, about 5 months, but I believe it's different for each woman. It could be from a couple of months to over a year.
