I'm wondering what specialization female MDs usually choose.

I started to go into Ob Gyn, but quickly found that the hours were horrible. I wanted to have a family, and there was no way to be a female Ob Gyn physician and have children. (Male M.D.'s can do it because they have wives to support them; female M.D.'s generally don't get the same kind of support from their husbands, many of whom have their own careers). I became a Psychiatrist because the hours were more regular. Believe me, I picked the right specialty. There will never be a lack of business, since the population keeps growing and there are more and more pressures on people! There are many, many women psychiatrists. We work very hard, but can have regular, more predictable hours.

Family or General Medicine are two other specialties that many female physicians will often specialize in besides OB/GYN or Pediatricians.
