I have two and both are representation on my family. I am also working on a new design dedicated to my grandparents. I'm reserving my shoulder blades for my children.
Don't get a tat just to have one. Get something that will still be special at 50.
My sisters are represented on the back of my neck and my great-grandmother who passed last year is on my ankle and the top of my foot. When I'm 80 I'll be able to share with my great grandchildren part of who they are and where they came from.

I have two tattoos, and am designing a third. My first was an angel sitting in a crescent moon, no real rhyme-or-reason to that one, I was just 18 and did it with my friends. The second was a butterfly on my lower-back with bluebells on either side, it was to signify a transformation in myself after filing for divorce, and my third will be a phoenix (or firebird) with the Slovak words for Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love, to honor my Bohemian heritage. I realize they wont look the greatest when I am older, but I like them!!! A tip, though: they are addictive! ;)

No I might get one though and its going to be a dolphin on the inside of the leg like down at the ankle. I'm getting it because all my life I've loved dolphins and they're just amazing because they're the most friendlist animals, i can think of, out there thats wild. I also want to get a cat face for my older cat who died almost 4 years ago. She was special because she was my first pet and sometimes it just seemed like she understood me when no one else did, sometimes she was comforting. And its gonna be for my new cat I got last August. I have to take care of him, feed him, pay for his vet visits. Hes actually the first pet that I've actually had to constantly take care of... he taught me responsibility. Yeah I've heard and been told "oh yeah its gonna look bad when you're old and wrinkly" well thats why I'm getting in places that wont really change a whole lot. Yeah they might get wrinkly but so? Thats inevitable no matter what you do to yourself (piercings, plastic surgery, weight loss). I also like it for the experience. Instead of putting on my lower back where it could expand I'd get a tattoo on my wrist, how much change is gonna come to that? Instead getting it on my hip where is might get deformed from weight or kids, I'll get it around my ankle. Get what I'm saying? I mean I dont care what others think, they can do what they want I'm not persuading anyone to do anything but I'm just saying how it is for me. And I dont plan on regretting anything because it was a part of me at one point and its written in my history just because I had it marked on me at that point in my life doesnt mean it has to change along with my preferences. Ya just look at it, smile, and say " That was me then and this is me now. I've grown, learned from my past. " Nothing better than that.

I do have a tatoo. It's on my upper bicep and unless I'm shirtless or wearing a tank top no one would know I had it. I got matching tatoos with some friends. It was to commemorate our time together as I was moving across country. It's not very big and is just black ink so I'm expecting it to age well.

When you're 50 with sagging skin, a tat will be the least of your worries.
Of course, that's always the classic argument. Tats can last forever if taken care of properly.

I have a very small bat just above my pubic hair on my right hand side of my groin. Got it when I was 15, now I am 40 - sadly the hairy bits extended slightly and so now it is a 'bat in a bush'.
I just got my name translated into Hindi Script for a tattoo. This site translates names and phrases if you are interested.

NO, I have often thought about it but never felt the need, even when everyone was getting them. They dont look very nice when you are older, and even if you love your tatoo, i think eventually, you will grow out of whatever it was that you got. It will be one of the moments.."what was I thinking?" Besides, I have seen so many tattoos that came out bad.

yep, so far i have one on my lower back, it`s my nickname with a pink star on either side of the name...i just luv it, it suits me & i can`t wait to get more, i`ll have at least 2 more, which i am designing at the moment!!! i`ll never regret having them, because i spent a lot of time thinking about what i wanted, not just deciding on the spur-of-the-moment!!!
