City folks or Country folk, who has "closer" families?

Or, more to the point, what makes for a closer family?

Southern familes always have love in the home and are very close bonded.
I would never want to live anywhere else but the SOUTH!

I've lived in the city for a long long time and know very few people that keep in close contact with their immediate family, yet my mothers family is from LA (lower alabama) and 6 generations of her family still communicate with each other regularly.

There are over 175 people in my mother's family that still keep in contact on an ongoing basis.

Neither is more likely than the other to be closer knit now a days because of the way our society is.
A true family consists of a group of people connected by a strong sense of love, trust and loyalty. They dont have to be related by blood to be family. They just have to love each other for who they are, trust and be able to trust each other and always be loyal to one another.

We Southerners have Southern Hospitality and have closer families. We also have the best cooks in the world.

excluding incest, i would say that city folk have closer families because they have good relationships without the sex.
