I don't remember ever using real eggs for Easter.
What I did for my nieces and nephew was buy chocolate shaped eggs for Easter, or the plastic ones and fill it up with candy. They liked that better because they got to eat them.

I always say I'm going to use real eggs, and there have been several years that we have, just because my kids enjoy being creative as they are decorating them. Most years, however, I end up just buying the plastic kind because it's easier and so hard to find the time necessary to boil and dye eggs.

This year, yet again, I am inspired to do it the "fun" way. We'll see how that actually works out!

If I had some little ones around, I would. In the past, I used real eggs and plastic eggs.

I don't have kids, and if I did the whole Easter egg thing for my dogs, I would definitely regret the stinky poots that resulted...lol. In honor of the incredible edible egg though, I do make egg salad, pasta salad and deviled eggs on Easter. And everybody I know, does the plastic eggs.

I have always just bought the little foil wrapped chocolate ones for my daughter. When she was little I'd hide them around the house. Now she just gets them all together in a bag with other stuff on the kitchen table.

My mother always poked holes at the ends of raw eggs and blew them out. We kids then got to paint the empty egg shells using water paints. Then Mom would hide them and we'd see who could find the most. I think my mother still does this even though her youngest (still at home) is now 31.

We dye eggs to eat and give as presents to grandparents, but use the plastic ones for an egg hunt. We fill and hide over 200 eggs every year for our kids, nephews, and neighbors.

When i go to my grandparents house for easter they use real eggs. But mostly people now a-day are too busy to actually use real eggs. I think that real eggs are much better if you have the time though!

Real ones..plastic ones are so commercialized...and what fun is Easter without the joy of coloring eggs....right?

We don't do either. I buy a couple of bags of candy for my friends' kids and some of those awful sugar eggs that my husband loves, you know, the brightly colored ones with the hard sugar coating and softer sugar stuff inside. They call 'em hiding eggs, I think. They make *me* want to hide, for sure!

Part of the fun is coloring the eggs. So yes I still use real ones.
