Ready-to-buy ones are an awful value, because so little comes in the basket for the money. Making baskets are pretty quick and easy- you just need a basket, some Easter grass, and some things to fill it with ( usually candies and small toys, or small gifts if the basket is for an adult). You can go the extra mile and wrap it in cello wrap with a bow to make it look like the store-bought ones, but that's not mandatory.
My hubby likes plants, so I usually fill a plastic flower pot witih some of his favorite candy bars and a few gardening things ( like plant seeds, fertilizer, etc) to give him Easter Sunday- he's usually pretty pleased with that. Plus it's got that spring theme.

Easter baskets are fine either store bought or home made.

I enjoy making them becasue I know the money I spend will be spent on toys and candy that the kids actually like.

when you buy one, there are toys in there that aren't always what the kids playwith.

But I have to admit, they are getting better. However, if I am going to pay $30.00 for an easter basket, I better get something my kids like and play with for a while.

you mean the basket itself??? most people buy them, if you dont really know what to get some places, like walmart sell them already filled and sealed in plastic, however i usually bought the basket and stuffed it myself, often with things i had made, but sometimes with purchased bunnies and such.

I would imagine most people on this site make their own. The ones you buy have hardly anything in them.

I usually buy a plain one and decorate it myself.

I prefer to make mine and so did my parents. You can personalize them when you make them yourself
