I do support the American involvement with NATO.
I believe in the cooperation between likeminded nations, and I think that they are more useful and practical than large bodies like the UN.
I believe that people who are likeminded can use that bond and common goal for the betterment of their ideology, whether it be for good or ill (and that then depends on one's worldview!).

ANZAC is a good organization because it combines two nations (Australia and New Zealand) that has common goals. Likewise, NATO combines liberal nations like the US, Canada and Western Europe towards a common enemy, the former USSR. Now that the USSR has been dismantled, NATO needs to reflect on their new mission. It could be defending Western ideals from Radical Islamic nations/groups or possibly, hypothetically in the future, China.

In closing, I believe that like-minded nations work best together. When a group of countries have a common goal, they could achieve that goal easier than a diverse society like the UN. Of course, the end goal might not always be pleasant! The Arab nations can join a coalition against Israel, yet that end result could be looked down upon by other nations (i.e., NATO).

So shortly, yes I support NATO.

wholeheartedly. in fact, i respect NATO overwhelmingly more than the U.N. Think about it: what war or extreme situation has the U.N. successfully resolved? None!! At least NATO can get things done. It is a very powerful coalition.

Yes I do! And we should remain in NATO and stand up for some of the goals they, and we, have defined. For the most part we don't abide by the goals! That is no reason to get out.

Right now it seems we need them more than they need us!

Didn't we start it?
