I think I'm in love with a cousin of mine who is a cousin through my mom's current husband's sister's daughter (basically my aunt's daughter). She says it wouldn't work because of the small family ties that exist. I think that we could though. I really like her and she likes me and I want to get some opinions on how to convince her of how our relationship could work. I need serious responses please. Thanks to anyone who answers with a real suggestion.

It sounds like your step aunt's daughter. By marriage, not blood. You two are no more related than you & I am. Otherwise your mom & her new hubby are related (which they're not).
She may be trying to gracefully blow you off, since there will be family events & such, so she claims that's why it won't work. She may be trying to be cool about it since she'll have to see u around. Ask her that directly.
Say "Do you have feelings for me or is it one way only?" If she says that she does have feelings for you, then kiss her and try to stoke the fire bro. If she says she likes you as a friend or some crap like that, take it like a man. Be cool about it & try to get over it w/o being a jerk to her.
That's what I'd do. Good luck & I hope u are making out soon!!!

If this girl really likes you, as you said, then it doesnt seem to be that she would need any convincing. The fam may need convincing, tho. The truth is i really dont see the trouble here: you're not even related to this person, and "small family ties" shouldnt really pose any problems. it seems to me kind of like the "falling in love with the girl next door" situation. Just because both of your families are close doesnt mean it cant work between you guys. and from a genetic standpoint there shouldnt be any issues at all.

I'm sorry but that's sooo wrong. You need to know that it's kinda illegal to marry a family member. So yes, I kinda agree with her on this.. your cousin. Of course it wouldnt work because of the small family ties!

From what I gather, you are not related to your Mother's husband's sister's daughter. She is not your cousin. I suggest you talk with your Mom about this. Good luck.
