Next year I am directing a one-act play with a friend. It's a drama I show, so we need a relatively simple play to perform and follow. The class is mostly high school freshmen, so it can't have anything too crazy, like accents or promiscuity.

I need a play that is already written, the entire drama department does an original, and I need titles, not subjects, subjects are too broad with litterally thousands of choices.

GREENFIELD BLOOMS is a terrific one-act play for a group of young people. Good acting opportunities, humor, and some positive themes. You can stage it simply as well. I think it's published by Samuel French- check the website.

Tip 1: Read other plays that you enjoy. Take the from each and create your own.
Tip 2: Pay attenton to conversations around you and place them into your play
Tip 3: When you begin, you do not have to know what your plot is or what the play is about. Just create dialogue. Once you have created enough dialogue, take it and put it in order. (Whatever order you see fit)
Tip 4: A Playwright is an Artist! The dialogue you put in order will speak to you and then you'll have your play.

Try it! If it works, hit me back and let me read the script.

If you look at Samuel French or Dramatist Play Services (both of them have websites) - I think they will show you a bunch of one acts - - with a synopsis of each of them - and they'll have them broken down by number of male and female characters.

Hope that helps.

Try getting a group of friends together and write your own, its fun and the world is your oyster or the ideas are endless, which ever sounds better.
