A sound "Card" is hardware therefore it cannot be downloaded current sound card but must be replaced with a newer one... then you open your case remove the old sound card and install the new one...ground yourself before ever opening a computer case...static kills. Now if you want to update the driver for your current sound card...go to your sound card's website and download the latest driver for your model sound card if you don't know it right click on My Computer-Hardware Tab-click on Device Driver and expand your sound card right click-click properties and it should tell you the make and model if not belarc advisor might be able to www.belarc.com it's a free program that will tell all programs and cd keys and I think it shows that but I'd have to run it and I have no time right now.

Hi. Try the website of the card manufacturer for a driver update. Might take some time for them to fix the problem.

You are going to have to know what you have for sound - on board or a sound card. If you do not know exactly what your are running download Belarc Advisor for free. Scan your system and it will tell you what chipset you are running for sound. Go to the manufacturer's web site for the drivers.
