Cuba is geographically the most convenient area for drug trafficking given its proximity to the United States' coasts.

Quite frankly, no I do not think so. The primary reason is economic. It is very expensive to do so. Although it is often shipped from Cuba to Puerto Rico and then to Miami, that is more expensive than most other means. Drugs from the Mexican drug cartel either come across the borders of TX, CA, AZ, and NM, or are already manufactured here in the USA. Methamphetamine is commonly produced here in the USA by illegal aliens. If you would like to look for more information on this, I suggest you contact drug enforcement agencies, and police agencies in the Arkansas and Missouri areas. It's a HUGE problem here! The way it works is simple. Illegal aliens produce the drugs here in the USA. They pay the mexican cartel a rather high percentage of their sales in order to keep false documents (mainly fake green cards, social security ID, etc.). Also, it is much cheaper for the mexican cartel to maintain their trade in this way than it is to traffic drugs through Cuba.
