We were all in the basement family room watching TV (In southwest Ontario Canada). Of course we had been tracking the storm all the while it was building up, and when it hit, we were watching that reporter guy from CNN get battered by the wind.

In March last year, my daughter (aged 14 at the time) spent her March break with a bunch of youth cleaning up and gutting 4 houses down there. She said the pictures don't even show the half of it.

The same...I was leaving Corpus Christi, Tx. We were in San Antonio watching CNN, the weather channel and all those just listening to the updates about Katrina.

At home, in Texarkana, Texas. And we were swamped with the people from it. It was sad, and infuriating at the same time. They made such efforts to get jobs and homes for the evacuees, and let people who had been there, in Texarkana, for a long time, all their lives, some of them, go without help and jobs. People who worked hard and couldn't get help had to sit back and watch things they needed being given to people who did nothing for it. I know they had a hard time, too, but the town's resources were nearly drained, and no help was available for the people who needed it and were actually part of the town.

In my house, in the middle of Hurricane Katrina. The 130 mile per hour winds gave it away.

I believe I was in my bedroom watching TV and I started watching the hurricane warnings coming on. It's really quite tragic. =(
