About 5 years ago, when I helped get a drop-in center off the ground for local mental health clients and their friends and families....I was a part of doing something really *good* for some of the poorest and least-loved members of our community. I went on to co-manage the thing for nearly three years, but in the end, office politics and backstabbing over funding issues killed my dream.
I haven't really felt fulfilled about anything since. It wasn't just losing a job....a dream died back there.
