or movies that took place in England, France, Germany,or any other country in Europe I was surprised when I became A teen and found out that black people live in Europe. I also didn't know there were white people in Africa until I was a teen and saw white people in a movie that took place in Africa. Did any one else think this?

you are probably american. so am i. and i can agree with you. i thought the same way til i was like 12 or 13. just goes to show you how the media has power over peoples perception. they let u see what they want u to think.

Lived in Wales, Europe and didnt have tv until I was 10. That was 1964. (I dont have tv at all these days so it by choice)
Saw my first non-white person about then. A seven foot giant of a man with a real happy outgoing personality....and black.
And yes, I did think blacks only lived in Africa.

No.. My mom is European and was born and raised in Turkey. I have many black cousins but they are European blacks. Uhh.. just because the term African American is stated doesn't mean their are only blacks living in Africa. Look at the United States for instance, we have all kinds of races here. All countries are that away. People choose where they want to live. Thought I'd also inform you that some Africans have the access to computers and Internet.

Nope. I did a lot of traveling when I was a kid, so I knew that most different races live all over the world. It's good to hear that you are learning more about the world, though. Please keep it up!

I didn't know there were any blacks in washington state when I was growing up until they rioted and burned part of Portland, Or. down.
