I know a lot of people that are very democratic when it comes to many issues but are completely against abortion. Can't any of the democratic polations resist the blood money of the abortionists?

Thats why theyre called liberals. Its a shame that any person would be so liberal as to be for the killing of an innocent child. Peace out..............

cyanne easy for you to type what you did you werent aborted. If it was you youd have a different view. Every aborted baby could have had the cure for cancer,AIDS even the common cold. Perhaps peace in the Middle East. Take this a father sick with sniffles the mother has TB. They have 4 children. The first is blind, the second is dead. The third is deaf and the fourth has TB. The mother is pregnant again. Given all this should she have an abortion? Well she didnt and if she did she would have aborted one of the greatest composers of all time Beethoven. Chew on that for a while. And about the abuse and neglected children, that happens in many of todays home of well respected people. No one knows what goes on behind anyones closed door. Peace out.............

Well, I am not a Democrat, but it strikes as a somewhat naïve question. Let us leave for a moment what is meant about the money of the abortionists (I had not realized abortion was such a profitable venture) and the fact there are Democrats even of national standing who oppose abortion (Harry Reid, the Senate Leader, springs to mind), it seems that what you really want to say is that somehow Democrats are morally inconsistent.

That seems a fundamental mistake. Those who call themselves Republican and Democrat fall into an extremely wide range of opinions and beliefs. As my old political science professor said, we live in a one and a half party system. When political parties encompass such a wide range of people (what the Republicans call the Big Tent), inconsistencies inevitably occur.

Instead of asking a question that is meant to solicit a sharp and antagonistic response, why not ask something more productive: on the most politically divisive social issue of our day, where can those on both sides of the abortion debate find common ground? That would, I think, offer much more profitable replies.

Cheers.

Simply because you outlaw something doesn't make it stop. (Look at the drug situation today for a reference). Almost every person I know is against abortions, what is there to like about it? However, the situation is that pregnant women will get abortions if they feel it is necessary. And often it is for them.

The democrats are against making women who feel they must have abortions from having to do so illegally. That is blood money for you.

Why are the religious people against contraception? That is a insane stance if you want to pick on one. Let's have a world where the children who are born are actually wanted; and that the parents have the ability to care and raise them properly.

First you must understand and accept that pro-choice does not equal pro-abortion. Many who are pro-choice in general, are personally against abortion. Those of us who are pro-choice are supporting a women's right to choose, whether it be keeping the baby, adoption, or abortion. I have found no law or ruling that gives anyone the right to make medical decisions for someone else who is in full control of their faculties. That being said, I believe you have a right to your opinion, just not a right to force your opinion on someone else.
BTW I have never had, nor will I ever have an abortion. That is my choice.

Because we don't feel the mother should be burdened with a kid she doesn't want. Nor do we feel that the kid should be burdened with a horrible life caused by the mother not wanting it. You should pay a bit more attention to what happens to kids who are NOT aborted when the mother chooses to abort and can't. Those kids are usually abused, neglected, molested, or caught up in "the system" (and experience even more abuse). No kid deserves that. They didn't have a choice.

Actually, Democrats try to save many more unborn lives than do so-called Republican/Conservative "pro-lifers", per public record. You see, spiritually diseased Republican / Conservatives gleefully, self-righteously allow tens of thousands of unborn babies to die every year. Fifty percent of all pregnancies end in abortion, spontaneous abortion, otherwise known as miscarriage. Half of those innocent babies can be saved, though, with proper pre-natal care. That's a LOT of babies. This is where the Republican / Conservative / Christian ilk reveal the Beast behind their sick paradigm. The very same groups that pretend to be "pro-life" are the VERY same groups that fight with blood on their lips and evil in their hearts to have all funding slashed from public prenatal programs. I'm a nurse. Been there. Saw that. Their sick paradigm is not whatsoever about saving lives but about social engineering and domination over women. Remember, the same morons are all gung ho, too, for capital punishment and war death.

You really want abortion to be fully illegal? with no exceptions?!

Desperate young women will simply flock to another country to have these procedures (most probably Canada in the case of the States)

This is exactly what happened when abortion was illegal in the Republic of Ireland until 1997 you used to get 'abortion tourists' coming to England.

this benefits no one, clearly?!

How would you like it if I crammed my beliefs, rules and regulations down your throat? I am demanding that you do not have the right to speak, think or do anything unless I say so!! Is this the type of regime you would like to follow and have imposed on you? Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of jack-offs like you proclaiming it is a Democrats fault or a Liberals fault. Republicans are in on it too!! So get off your holier than thou pedestal.

First of all, contrary to previous posts, pro-choice is pro-abortion, because you are allowing it. Pro-life is not cramming beliefs down anyone's throat, it's protecting innocent life. Making a decision that a life is not worth living because of "suffering", and then taking it upon yourself to end the life, is one of the most immoral, intellectually dishonest things that can be done. All life is full of suffering. It is not our place to determine whose life is worth living.

Now, to answer your question, most people, I'm sorry to say, listen to their emotions more than to logic. The fact that an unborn child is a life is an intellectual concept, because a developing fetus doesn't look like an ordinary person, and it cannot be seen in pain. The images of a starving child in an adoption home, or a woman raising an unwanted child, invoke more emotion than does the mass butchering of innocent life that we can't see.

However, there are many of us who do see abortion for what it is, and, God willing, we will eventually outlaw that brutal practice.
