He wasn't even in the top five of NFL Rookies in total ruching yards, with Joseph Addai of the Colts the #1 rookie in rushing yards, as Addai was the only rookie to surpass 1,000 rushing yards, even after splitting rushing duties with Rhodes. Jones-Drew, Maroney, Bell, Norwood, and Washington, all rookies, also had more rushing yards.

On the other hand, Jones-Drew had 16 touchdowns, while Bush has 9.

Also, Bush's longest single Pro run was 18 yards. Exactly ten other rookies had longer single runs then that, with Norwood on top with a 78 yard run.

The only thing Bush has going for him is that he has more receptions then any other rookie, with 18 more then Colston, who had the second most amount of receptions. Despite having all these receptions though, he's #3 in rookie recieving yards. He placed behind Colston and Holmes, who had 39 less receptions then Bush.

So, my question, why do so many people think that Reggie Bush is so good? They're many rookies better then him.

It's not that Bush isn't good, it is the simple fact that he was so hyped in college all the way up till the first pro game that teams would focus to take him out of the game plan. That is why he doesn't have the rushing yards or reception yards that most other rookies got. Now mix in the fact that he tried a bunch of moves that worked in college (that don't work at the pro level) and you have a decrease in yds. You don't have to have a bunch of yards to make a impact, just his presence freed up other guys such as Colsten

Well, He is a former Heisman Trophy Winner, Went to the Talented Football school of USC, His team was Ranked #1. He was regarded as the top player in the Team. When Entering the NFL, he was the best player in the NFL Draft as far as hype, and more secured pick. Can Steal the show every time he touches the ball. A Franchise Player, Who plays best against the best. A Superb Play maker.

May have not had the year everybody expected from him. Reason: Every Team tried keeping an eye on him every play with two to three players on him. He can go through the hole once it opens and take it all the way. May have not have the numbers but he did get his value for the #2 pick.

Better player than, Mario Williams, and Vince Young.

First, as a player he will be very good, he showed glimpses of what is to come late last season. Also, I know it is outside of football, but the stuff he did for New Orleans was fantastic. People love him for all the help he gave, especially since he was a rookie, and a lot of people seem to think that being a good person off the field makes you a better football player (I am not knocking Bush here, I am just making a statement on the way a lot of people seem to think in general.) But he will be a good player. Will he be great truly? Its hard to say, only time will tell. But he'll make an impact for the Saints that is for sure.

reggie bush is good. he will get better. it was just his rookie season. reggie bush has more adjusting to the NFL to do than other rookies because in college bush could rely on his speed and elusiveness and not have to worry about finding the holes to run through. a lot of his college moves wont' work in the NFL because NFL players are so much faster than college players. if anyone watches NFL network, there was one time that marshall faulk was showing viewers all the holes reggie bush was missing. he will eventually learn to find the holes and will probably get better. he is a very hard worker with a lot of talent. i don't think he'll ever be in the top ten runningbacks of all time but he should turn out to be a very good back.

Bush is so versatile that defenses have to change their scheme just to guard him. He is one of the reasons the Saints went as far as they did this past season. Maybe not the best rookie rb last year but i'll bet he has the best career of all of them. I'm not a big Reggie Bush fan myself, but when a defense has to change what it does just because he is on the field must mean something. He is so quick in the open field that he is almost unstoppable. I think as long as the Saints keep him and McCallister they are going to be a very good team for many years.

You are crazy! He's #3 in receiving amongst rookies did you forget the fact that Colston and Holmes are receivers and Bush is a running back. He is versatile and can hurt you in a number of ways, he's a threat to take it all the way everytime he touches the ball. He also shared carries with Duece McAllister a pretty talented back himself.

Matt Flynn - Agree. all and sundry yet Sanchez. As a Jet fan myself, i choose for to start, so as; Flynn, McElroy, Tebow and Vick. i do no longer choose for Alex Smith save Holmes and Revis - thoroughly agree. i'm bored with Jets fan talking approximately liberating Holmes. Yeah, harm an already susceptible receiving center much extra. astonishing theory. Get Reggie Bush - thoroughly disagree. he's an puffed up scumbag. Get Greg Jennings - Agree. i could choose him, yet as quickly as we lose out on him, i does no longer recommendations the Jets signing Edwards to a low fee settlement. I choose those starters for the Jets next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. i do no longer anticipate it, yet once I had to choose for and ignore approximately means salary cap issues... QB: Matt Flynn (starter), Greg McElroy RB: Bilal Powell (starter), Shonn Greene, Joe McKnight WR: Santonio Holmes, Greg Jennings, Stephen Hill, Jeremy Kerley TE: Dustin Keller (renounce) Rex's greatest flaw is that he's obdurate and too dependable to his gamers. fortuitously, he's taking the 1st step removed from Sanchez via beginning McElroy.

He did not have many rushing yards because he was too busy catching all of those passes. What makes him so good is he can run or catch out of the backfield and even line up as a wideout.
