I just recently set up an aquarium with an reg. goldfish, an oranda goldfish, a catfish and 2 plecos. As stated on the question heading, why does my oranda have a white trailing on is head that looks like it's oozing out of it. Is that a sign of Ich? I've been treating the aquarium with Nox-ich. Plus it doesn't look like it's sick. Please help, I don't want another gold fish to die. I had one die on me? I like this one. It's my favorite.

Ich appears as white dots about the size of a grain of salt - I don't think this is your fish's problem.

This sounds more like a parasite. Check this photo to see if this looks like what your fish has (the white things by the top fin): http://home.infostations.com/letitiashen/Fish/Anchor_worm2.jpg close-up view: http://www.fishdeals.com/fish_diseases/anchor_worms/

see anchor worm for treatment: http://www.fish-disease.net/diseases.htm coppersafe, malachite green (carcinogen), formalin (carcinogen), or Clout should be added to the water to kill any eggs - follow product directions.

Is it possible in any way to get a photo of your fish? If not, that's ok.
A popular and easy method to rid your Freshwater fish of any parasites/bacteria/fungus that it can contract in freshwater, is the Salt Water Dip.
This is a process where you dissolve 3-5 tsp of sea salt (or any other NON-additive salt)(NOT TABLE SALT) per gallon of water. Make sure the salt is good and dissolved. Place your fish into this solution for 5-30 minutes watching them closely for distress. After the soak, place the sick one into a quarantine tank with a mixture of 1-2 tsp of sea salt/gallon with an airstone and filter. Change the water daily (about 20-25%) keeping with the solution mixture.
Salt dips kill freshwater parasites/bacteria/fungus, as well as stimulate the natural slime coat on your fish (the same thing a stress coat enzyme does) which will help reduce your fish's stress, and assist in the healing process. I would preform the dips while doing the daily water changes.
As your fish gets better, slowly wean him off the sea salt mixture by making each dip less concentrated.
Below is a great link to information on the benefits of Salt Dips/Baths...
and how to preform them....
