Was the pharaoh cheated?
A goldsmith was asked to make two statues for thr pharaoh. One statue was to be 6 times larger then the other. The pharaoh gave the gold smith 60 pieces of gold to make the larger statue. The gold smith asked the pharaoh for 10 pieces to make the smaller statue. The pharaoh was so pleased that he gave him 5 pieces of gold as a reward.

Assume that the statue is a solid, so the volume of gold required for the small statue be k cubed. (k x k x k).

Then the larger one is 6 times k cubed.
The goldsmith was paid 60 pieces of gold for the larger one.
So, the smaller one is worth 10 pieces of gold, however, the goldsmith was only paid 5 pieces even though he asked for 10.

In your story, the goldsmith asked for 10 but was only paid 5 (as reward). No mention for being paid 10. So, the goldsmith got cheated by 5 gold pieces by the pharaoh.

No math necessary. The pharaoh was very pleased with the statutes so he paid a fair price.
