I sometimes count. Lay still & just start counting to 100 forward, backwards, by twos, etc. Whenever I do it, it works. Sweet dreams!

How old are you? Melatonin helps if you're over 30, because your body slows down production of this natural sleep-inducing substance.
If it's stress, or a "noisy mind", you must learn to get out of that "thinking rut". Concentrate on your breathing. Breath in and out slowly, counting each breath, and feeling the lungs fill and empty. Usually, counting to 20 like this will put your mind in neutral, where it belongs!

I think you will do better getting on a regular sleep schedule. Try something relaxing before going to bed. A lot of people read and fall asleep.

you can try to drink some warm milk or maybe youre besset is getting old and making youre back hurting alot. you should think about getting a new bed that is feel comftable and wouldnt gave yany back pain everynight. or you should dedicate to go sleep early at nightinstead staying up all weekends and nights til youre do feel tired and fal asleep .

I never get enough sleep at night. So whenever I go to bed, I tend to fall asleep within a minute. But umm, I dont really recommend losing out on sleep.

listen to calming music. If your sleeing in a place that is light, like in an airplane, or somebody has the light on, use a sleeping masks. I find that I fall asleep best in dark, quiet, calming places.
