Pink Floyd Or Rolling Stones?

These bands are so different in style, I cant find a way to compare them, I like both of them. Although they both play a lot of blues, the way they play them is completly different. Some may not see pink floyd's music as "blues", but That's what a lot of it is to me, In fact their Name is from two early blues musicians. and the Stones were heavily influenced by Robert Johnson and many other Blues musicians, but The styles of these two bands are too different to really compare them. as for popularity, The stones may be a bit more well known world wide, But there is a huge following for Pink floyd, and as for musicianship, at first glance, it may seem apparent that Pink floyd has excelent musicians, which they do... But As wasted as Keith Richards appears to be most of the time, That guy can make some pretty difficult licks and chords sound easy. And the rest of the band, which is often underrated, does a fine job, even though the music is usualy pretty basic. They know how to write hits, though. The live shows, however, are easy to compare, however, there is no doubt that Pink Floyd gives a much better concert. That live show would out do almost ANY other band.

In my opinion I think the Stones were more popular. They had so many popular hits that more people could listen to (more mainstream for the time)...like their Double-Disc 40 Licks which was an amazing double CD.

I'd have to say that I would rather listen to the Stones because there is no way I can be in a bad mood listening to their music. It may not be as deep as Floyd. Tough call...but Stones.

I think that Pink Floyd was better musicians all around though. Both amazing bands, but Floyd had some sick talent.

(1) Stones are more popular and still highly marketed. They are makin the bucks.

(2-3) I've seen both acts over the past 10 years or so live. Pink Floyd was a much better show, definately the better act. I have no interest in seeing the stones live anymore. Floyd I'd definately go to.
