What do you think matters most.. looks or personality?

some people say it wont work out if there ugly, and some people say it wont workk there a jerk.

Looks are not everything, but you need to be attracted to the person. Personality is very important

There has to be chemistry. Sometimes chemistry has nothing to do with physical appearance. But the person in question has to have something(s) going for him/her that you are interested in and nothing that you consider a real turnoff that you cannot overlook. Physical attraction is a big plus. You may be attracted to a jerk but that gets old fast when you discover he treats you like he treats others. A mixture of looks, humor, gentleness, and ambition is a good start. People that have outside interest other than just studying are much less boring. The hottest looking guy is not always the best choice. The jerk factor could knock him out of that position as well as being just plain boring. Nothing bores me more than a guy that talks about his own or his family's money. Zzzzzzzzzzz

It probably wont work either way. What will carry you through is consideration and respect, sharing the same values and goals, BUT being attracted to the person is also important. This isnt to say the person needs to be very hot, just appealing to the other person and sometimes even not very attractive people have lots of sex appeal. But waking up every morning to someone you think is ugly probably means there isnt much love.

You can't just have one or the other. Simple fact is, he can be the nicest guy in the world, but if he's fugly, you won't wanna get that close to him. Alternatively, if you've got the hottest guy in the world, you'll enjoy playing with him, but if he's a jerk, you'll get sick of being treated badly and you'll stop wanting to be close to him. There must be balance. A moderately attractive man with a good personality makes up for any lacking in either area at any given time (that is, things like weight and other physical factors fluctuate, and moods change, so one factor will balance the other when it's out of whack).

If you really had to weigh it out,personality would be most important,at least in long-term relationships.Outer beauty fades away after a while.Though,I am human and like physical attraction.It's not a deal-breaker though.I have dated girls that were considered ugly,but they were real intelliigent,funny,and real.I would date the fat version of Gwenyth Paltrow on Shallow Hal...or her double on the film.

I would take a wonderful personality ugly person over a beautiful or handsome jerk any day. If you were blind, looks would not matter anyway, but personality sure would! It is what is on the inside that counts.

It's definitely personality, just remember, good looks will eventually fade, and if your a jerk behind the pretty face, there is nothing there. There are so many shallow people out there that just want looks, it's very sad. The most perfect person could be standing right in front of them and not even know it!!

But people first judge on the looks tho. I mean, you wouldn't even bother with a person who looks ugly. Then they judge on the personality...

Believe me personality matters so much more than looks, to have a lasting relationship someone who you can get along with is better than fighting with some jerk just because he is good looking.
