Success of a business all depends on two things: Reputation and good location. If the business has a reputation before hand and you can continue the same service and product offerings as the old business, then you will do well. You must also be prepared to offer new things at a regular basis to keep your customer base.

Good location is also important. If you are in a busy business district or a shopping location (such as a mall or an old-town location) then you will attract many customers who will indulge in your store.

If your company has nothing but a few assets, then consider changing the name and location to somewhere else.

Just remember to constantly question your self about every aspect when buying a business. Be prepared for a failure, but be open to success!
