It will change your perception of the situation.
Ultimately that is all that matters.

It depends on what you mean. If you mean "can you focus on the positive and some kind of power of the laws of physics or some kind of way of changing the law of cause and effect?" then, no. Of course not. Anyone who claims this is trying to get you to buy a book and is clearly telling people what they want to hear. Everybody wishes it was that easy, but sadly it is not. However, the power of positive thought is a reality, in the fact that by thinking positively you can give yourself a better chance of performing better at whatever task you are trying. Telling yourself you "can" vs you "can't" really does lead to some positive effects, as any athlete will tell you. This does not mean that someone thinking positively forces things to be better, but that they have perform at a higher level when they think this way.

Yes, to focus on the positive outcome of a situation can be beneficial.
When the goal is to succeed at the task, and your focus is aimed at this, your performance will be geared to obtaining the results needed to obtain a successful outcome, thank you.

Yes. Any situation that concerns you probably involves other human beings.
Human beings are influenced by your perception, and they can help your situation become better because they are influenced by your focus on the positive.
In the long-term, good leaders are often able to change outcomes by influencing those around them to be able to focus on the positive, and thereby focus their energies to doing what is necessary to make a situation better, rather than waste energy on focusing on the negative - often resulting in inaction and general useless moaning...

looking at things in a negative manner will most likely bring out the worst in situations. when you are able to focus on the better, it's most likely that positive changes will take place. yes, and i'd say that it's a good idea for you to look at things positively because it helps with me or anyone else for that matter.

Yes, as long as the focus is not on 'winning', but on doing the best one can...sports psychologists and motivational speakers (and Buddhists!) all use positive thought to increase one's chances of success...
In domestic violence situations, or hostage takings, the negotiaters are trained to focus on the positive...it changes the status of both the victim and the aggressor in beneficial ways

All I can tell you it has changed my life completely, for the better. It hasn't happened overnight however. As long as any doubt remains, it sabotages the whole process, Try something simple like picturing a parking spot near the entrance to a store or a restaurant even when, or especially when the whole lot is full. If it doesn't work immediatly remember how long it took to learn to ride a bike. And like riding a bike once you learn how to do it, it becomes much easier each time.

Sometimes, It requires one to clearly believe with genuine emotional feeling on the existence and presence of the positive right now. We only see the world through perspective. Thus if your perspective changes it makes the thing in entirety change.

Since everything living puts off energy, why wouldn't a positive energy help in your life. It certainly can make a difference in the kind of people you attract to yourself. So I would assume it would also attract good things to come into your life. The power of positive thinking is absolutely underestimated.

Not always, sometimes it just not meant to be. But there are many times I have had good come from a bad situation by praying and believing by faith. We should think on good things, and stay positive in any circumstance, by trusting and focusing on God not the circumstance. He loves to answer our prayers, but we must ask first, and he wants us to believe then rest in that assurance.
