Heres the assignment. --Create at least TEN sentences that demonstrate the connection of Shakespeare to the modern world. Shakespeare influenced every generation of writers since his death and still today has some level of impact on contemporary plays, movies, and poems. So this is indeed a very large topic. And yes, he invented many of the most used expressions in our language.

I was going to do how Lion king was similar to one of his plays, and also with the movie She's the Man. Could you think of any other ideas, or perhaps get me started on the paragraph? Thanks

Do the ten sentances have to be different topics?
Or can you write ten measly sentences on one topic?
Because if you're writing ten sentences on one topic, the movies you have named are perfect examples of lifting plot elements from Shakespearian works, either directly (She's the Man) or indirectly (The Lion King).

If you want to really WOW your teacher, you should go out and rent HBO's Deadwood, and analyze the speeches of the upper class characters. You'll find that, like Shakespeare, many are in Iambic Pentameter.

Of course, I don't know how old you are, so perhaps I just recommended Deadwood to a middle schooler, which would be slightly suspect.
