when you are young, $3,500 sounds like a lot of money, but you will see this and more come and go many times in your life. Besides, people who travel and are educated tend to have more learning power later in life.
I'd say, go for it. You won't be sorry. Don't end up old singing you'rs shudda, cudda, wuddas.

It is an opportunity of a lifetime and, as you said, you may never have the chance again. So, how badly do you want to go?
$3500 is a pretty good sized loan, so you should consider carefully before making a decision.
If I had the chance to go, NOTHING would keep me away.
Good Luck!

Sounds like you've got a responsible attitude about this. I say do it. I speak from experience when I say the workforce is a trap that really doesn't give you much opportunity to sod off on a holiday (and it won't get better with the leaning toward casual employment, with no holiday pay).

GO FOR IT!
Yes, this is a "once in a lifetime experience"! It may be "expensive", but, it'll be worth it. The things you'll see and experience, will stay with you all your life!
And, you can put on your future resume, as "extracurricular" activity that shows above average interest in the world.
You don't want to be in the position, of someday saying, "Well, I could have.................."

Better to go and experience than to sit home and wonder what might have been for the rest of your life. Have a safe trip.

lf you think this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and can do something about your budget constraint, go for it.
From my readings, Galapagos is an interesting place to be. Just don't expect too much if it turns out to be just so and so. lol
Try asking your parents or other elders. They might help. Goodluck. Bon Voyage.

Personally I think that's a lot of money for a young person to be spending. You need that money to start you off in life. Trust me on this. All you will have to show for it when you return is the memories. It's your call. Good luck on your decision.
