Who thinks it is funny that Spence does not realize that the house/senate are both controlled by the Dems.

I am now convinced that Liberals cannot read... or cannot figure out how to press on a link.

The figures come from realclear politics that average ALL of the polls together,
and yes Bush is still higer than the Congress, after the vote on the no funding bill

Because Americans want to win in Iraq and Democrats are supporting defeatist policies.

What you're seeing has little if anything to do with the current political climate. This phenomenon is one of the oldest in American politics. People always seem to think the houses of Congress do a relatively poor job, but the very same people, regardless of party affiliation, think that their own representatives or senators are doing a pretty good job. It just works out that way, largely because each person only has one representative and two senators that are (supposedly) working on their behalf. Therefore, the other 434 representatives and 48 senators are do-nothing bums. Like the saying goes, all politics is local. A similar instance is when people talk of "pork" spending. Everyone seems to hate it, but pork only exists in someone else's district or in another state.

Because the Dem plan for recalling troops from iraq is about as stupid as Bushes plans for going into iraq.

I'm all for winning the war but...
You have the same situation as vietnam now with buildings instead of trees and heat instead of mosquitos.

At least the SOUTh vietnamese wanted us there. Neither side wants us in Iraq. I really see this as a no win situation. We cannot financially afford to continue on our path. Afghanistan contributed to the break up of the soviet union. Don't think for a second the US is immune to such a mess. The only difference is if our economy falls, it takes the world with it.

On a side note, I sorta like these forums but the previous yahoo forums were much better for a discussion. At least there are less trolls.

It is amazing that the rating for Congress has been lower than the President's approval rating but you never hear this in the media. I wonder why..........

Congress has become a dysfunctional entity that wastes time and money and accomplishes little. We need term limits for members of Congress. We also need a Constitutional amendment that limits and standardizes taxation.

Limiting the amount of time people can stay in Congress will limit their power. Limiting the food that feeds the beast (taxes) will limit the waste and force the federal government to focus on its' Constitutional duties.

Because we have nothing but hate-filled rhetoric flying around.
So, people are basing their opinion on what they are told.

And Congress has been in power for two months. And in that time, their approval rating went from 22% to 31%. Bush's rating hasn't climbed out of the 30s for years.

This will be high compared to what they will get if they keep insist on writing nonsense bills like their war funding bill which has millions of dollars of wasteful pork in it, like money for spinach farmers. A war funding bill should have neither pork nor spinach in it. Those idiots never learn. Wait until their approval rating drops down to 2% and see what happens then.

Their rating is higer than Bush's. Look at the bill they just sent to the President. Who has whom over a barrel?

30.5% is the share of Democrats in this country. Republicans are about 33%, and the rest are independent or third party.

Ummmm Could it be that politicians seem to forget the people that got them elected and seek to enhance themselves regardless of the effect on their constituency. ( This applies to all politicians blue and red
